Michael Hintz, M.A.          

Founder, Absolute Fitness

Mike's personal experience includes directing strength and conditioning programs for athletes at the collegiate level, patients in the physical rehabilitation field and with the general public in group and individual settings. He has completed a Masters degree in Exercise Science at the University of South Dakota and is currently working towards a Doctor of Naturopathy degree from Trinity College of Natural Health.  He has been certified as a Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor and Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant by the American Council on Exercise (ACE), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and MedX Rehabilitative Exercise Specialist by the College of Medicine, Health, and Human Performance at the University of Florida. Mike is also a certified SuperSlow Exercise Instructor from the SuperSlow Exercise Guild and a certified U.S. weightlifting coach by the U.S. Weightlifting Association. He has received additional certifications as a Health Minister and a Biblical Health Coach.  Mike also earned multiple NCAA All-American honors as a collegiate Track & Field athlete. 

Mike founded Absolute Fitness in 1998 and is the fulfillment of his vision to increase awareness and access to this revolutionary personal training approach. Over the years, this vision has expanded to educating people about achieving optimal health - a lifestyle of total well-being: physical, emotional and spiritual. He presently resides in Trivoli with his wife Dawn and family.

 

Jeff Metz, CPT

Administrative Assistant

Jeff has been with Absolute Fitness for five years and is a certified personal trainer through the National Council on Strength & Fitness and the American Sports and Fitness Association.  He has trained and helped hundreds of clients reach their potential and continues to push them forward on the road to optimum fitness.  Jeff is a lifelong resident of Peoria.

 

Dr. Rachael Mulch, PT

Rachael has a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Science at Bradley University. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Health Science from Bradley University.  She also has minors in Family & Consumer Sciences, Nutrition and Psychology.  Rachael is a certified Personal Fitness Trainer from the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA).  She has a diverse background in sports medicine and physical rehabilitation.  As a Bradley student Rachael was a cheerleader for three years and active in Alpha Phi Omega – a co-ed service fraternity.  She and her husband Dan live in Peoria.

 

 

Jonathan Oliver, CFT

Jon has been instructing clients at Absolute Fitness since 1999.  He has an education in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health and is a Certified Fitness Trainer through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA).  When not motivating clients in the studio, Jon resides with his wife and two children in East Peoria.

 

Jennifer Smith, CPT

Jennifer holds a bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Eastern Illinois University.  Her academic minor was in the field of Business Administration.  She is a Certified MedX Rehabilitative Technician - with an emphasis on spinal rehabilitation.  Jennifer has had extensive training in the exercise philosophy and protocol taught and prescribed at Absolute Fitness.  Her professional experience includes one-on-one and group exercise instruction in the areas of fitness and physical rehabilitation.

She also has many years of teaching children activities such as: water safety, swim lessons and tennis lessons.  Other youth activities include day camps and field trips.  Jennifer's husband Matt and son live in Peoria.
